The 2020s haven’t exactly been calm. But amid pandemics, existential crises, and too many “content drops,” comedy quietly became our collective therapist.

From vampires with admin issues to washed-up comedians rediscovering their bite (and their Wi-Fi password), sitcoms found new ways to mix sharp wit with genuine heart. Streaming gave us a buffet of brilliance — Hacks, Mythic Quest, Colin from Accounts, and even the unexpected return of Frasier.

🎉 How Did You Do?

• 9–11 correct: You’ve mastered the art of multi-platform viewing and emotional regulation through sitcoms.

• 6–8 correct: Solid. You’ve clearly watched everything Apple TV+ has ever released during a “free trial.”

• 3–5 correct: Respectable — you’re the Alison to someone else’s ghost.

• 0–2 correct: Oh dear. You might still be buffering.

The 2020s: Kindness, Chaos, and Deadpan Therapy

Modern comedy has evolved into something deeper — funnier because it feels real. Hacks gave us generational tension and punchlines sharper than Deborah’s cheekbones. Mythic Quest proved that egos, deadlines, and bad Wi-Fi are a universal language. Colin from Accounts brought emotional honesty out of Australia (and roadkill). And Frasier’s return reminded us that self-awareness doesn’t have an age limit — or a retirement plan. Even the vampires of What We Do in the Shadows learned about friendship, eventually.

Mostly.

This is the decade where comedy stopped mocking and started understanding. Still funny. Still ridiculous. Just a little more human.
